Meet Our Team

Proteoma is a Contract Research Organization based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with a focus in structural biology and cryogenic electron microscopy. Here at Proteoma, we believe that rapid access to cryo-EM microscopes and high-speed data collection are fundamental to high-throughput single particle structure elucidation and structure based drug design.  We focus on bringing this evolving technology to our clients by providing sample-to-structure cryo-EM services, including grid preparations of purified samples, sample screening, and high-resolution cryoEM data acquisition and analysis.  Our team is dedicated to providing efficient project turn-around times and lending our expertise to expedite your drug discovery pipeline.

Jon Fay

Dr. Jonathan Fay

Dr. Jonathan Fay has been involved in membrane protein pharmacology and biochemistry for over 20 years. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Dr. Fay’s expertise in single particle cryo-EM has led to numerous publications of membrane protein structures. To date, Dr. Fay (in collaboration with the Roth Lab at UNC) has successfully solved over 45 GPCR structures at 2.3-3.8A nominal resolution. His expertise on membrane protein biochemistry and their analysis by cryoEM is core to the ethos of Proteoma.

Jared Peck

Jared got his start in cryo-EM as a Research Technician in the Cryo-electron Microscopy Core in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine.  During that time, he collaborated with dozens of academic and industry institutions and published several high resolution structures.  From sample preparation to structure determination, Jared has performed or consulted on hundreds of cryo-EM projects.
